Our Youth is an important focus of North Oaks. We want to create an environment where teenagers can develop their relationship with God and challenge the views of the world in a constructive manner. We are blessed with two youth ministers and their families. See below for examples of the many activities the youth group does throughout the year.

Youth Group

Our Youth Group meets on Sunday mornings at 10am upstairs in the teen room and again on Wednesday nights at 7pm. The Dan’s (our two youth ministers with the same first name) lead our Bible lessons on teen related issues.

Youth Activities

Super Bowl Party
Each year the teens have a super bowl party where they watch the game, play games, and eat. Right after the game we have a short devotional lesson as well. It's a great opportunity to invite their friends and have a good time.

Beach Day
A day where we can all go to the Beach (Zuma/Ventura) do fun beach games, conversations and enjoy God's beautiful setting.

Youth Rallies
The teens at North Oaks attend many youth rallies throughout the year a favorite being the Ventura Church of Christ youth forum!

31st Scoop Night at Baskin Robbins
Once a year Baskin Robbins has 31 cent scoop night on a Wednesday night. As a special treat we all pile in the vans and cars and get some ice cream!

Easter Egg Hunt
Each year the teens help hide Easter eggs for the younger kids of our congregation to hunt after service.

Potluck
The teens help serve at the many potluck lunches we have throughout the year. The most recent was the Men's potluck where the men cooked for the women.

1st Annual Teen Iron Chef Competition
A fun competition that our kids just love. We have a theme or challenge right our of food network. The kids prepare meals or dishes themselves and we have judges taste and comment. An all around exciting event!

Community Outreach
We try to participate in many community events throughout the year such as, "make a difference day," river rally clan up, food pantry and many others. Our kids get to experience first hand the value and feeling of serving our community.

Sunday Morning Bible Class
Every Sunday Morning our teens meet in our youth room and have in depth lessons and discussions of God's word straight from the Bible. It's a time to grow our relationship with God, learn his truth and do it as a group.

Wednesday Night Life Group:
Every Wednesday night our teens meet in our youth room and have bible lead discussions and studies on issues facing teens today. There is fellowship, role-playing, games and God's word guiding us all. It's a great time to fellowship and build relationships while getting encouragement in our walk with God.

Also when weather allows, we meet early at 6:00 and play basketball, handball and other games.
